I've recently been offered and accepted a significant promotion at my day job that will require me to relocate to Arizona.
With this change, I will be concluding my pitching lesson services on the following schedule:
This transition is truly bittersweet. While it has always been our plan to enjoy our 20s in San Diego before returning home to Arizona to start our family, the timing has come sooner than expected. I'm excited about being closer to family and this new professional chapter, but leaving San Diego, especially the 1904 community, is very difficult.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to each of you who trusted me to work with your children 1 on 1. The relationships we've built and the progress we've made together have been the most rewarding part of my time here. I will genuinely miss watching your athletes grow and develop their skills.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about this transition.
Hi! I’m Garrett Poole, owner and operator of K1 Baseball. My Baseball Journey started over 20 years ago in Tempe, Arizona. My love for pitching was cemented the first time I ever took the mound, when I struck out the side and ran off the field into my proud Dad’s arms. Now, what drives me is helping young men make the most out of their potential.
I’m blessed to have grown up playing this game with and against some incredible players, many of whom are now in the Major League. I’m also proud to have been coached by multiple USA Baseball Coaches of the Year, World Famous Pitching Gurus, Award Winning Minor League coaches, and a baseball Hall of Farmer.
I’ve taken bits and pieces from what I’ve learned over the years and developed my own methodology to develop successful young pitchers. The basis of my program is of course simple, repeatable mechanics. But just as important is being able to control your breathing, mindset, and emotions. As the great Yogi Berra once said, “90% of baseball is mental, and the other half is physical.”
I am a coach who is willing to take the time to get to know the player as an individual, and correct weaknesses while promoting strengths. There is no cookie-cutter one-size-fits-all.
When it came time to name my Pitching Business, I decided to name it after the best pitch in baseball: Strike 1.
Also, for all my F1 fans out there, I’m Team McLaren.
Your son can only improve so much in a team setting. For him to get to the next level, he needs one on one time with a dedicated coach. My private lessons are focused on building arm strength, building repeatable mechanics through rhythm and timing, pitch development, and proper mentality.
I offer small to medium group clinics in sizes of 2, 4, 8, and 12. While your son may not get as much personalized coaching, this Is a great way to introduce him to broader topics such as pitch grips, pickoff moves, and pitcher’s fielding practice.
Is your pitching staff struggling to get outs? Are your games turning into ”walk-a-thons”? I’m happy to work with your coaching staff and players to develop a system to get the best out of them.
